What is the Medical Staff Association? (MSA)
Supported by the facility engagement initiative, medical staff associations exist under the medical staff rules with a mandate to provide a voice to medical staff, promote and advance medical staff involvement in the provision and planning of medical services at their facilities and to elect officers.
Medical staff associations have an executive board lead by an elected president that represents the medical staff membership, along with working groups and committees that represent the strategic plan and priorities of the association.
Medical staff associations also oversee local facility engagement funds. Each individual association uses the funding guidelines to allocate funding based on their strategic plan and priorities.
